The gods remain unyielding,
Rough hands upon my skin.
Cold and silent feet dancing on the fresh turned dirt of my grave.
Fingers upon my arm,
Pulling me forth from my place of peace!
But an extension of life!
An unperceived luxury.
It is done and thus it stays done!
The past now gone it should not return.
The future beckons with a smile,
slips a blade into your heart,
not caring for the living.
I've been given the gift that curses,
to die and life again;
returning to whisper among the living the secrets of the dead.
My FaithI have placed my faith in human depravity
In the heartless and the cold
I've sold my soul.
I gave everything to you my lord,
you now have it all
I have bowed down before them
Those well versed in ancient mysteries
To learn their secrets;
I shall bleed forever
An eternity away they are calling me
My freedom is all yours.
I have shamed my self
Before them standing blameless
Body wrinkled, old, and pure;
Gone is all virginity
I left my body in another world
In silence you have stripped me of all I ever loved.
You Were Not An Aquarium BoySea-glass became your bones,
brine your blood, and seashells
melded into your skin.
You were not quite an ocean
when you said "This is your sign to love me."
My body was like a building;
tall, cold, almost unbreakable.
I was metallic and sharp,
towering over your waters.
I remember taking your hand in mine,
conch and coral shells scrubbing
my skyscraper wrists, and laughing
about how one day you would
submerge every last bit of me.
Your lips, riddled with argonauts,
found my cheek and I cringed
at the coarseness.
You asked if they bothered me
and I finally told you "I
think I love you."
